Instrument Shops
The instrument shops at the Don Wright Faculty of Music employ a number of technicians who, under the direction of Mr. Don Stephenson, are responsible for the daily maintenace repair and administration of all Faculty-owned instruments.
In addition to the extensive collection of pianos and keyboards, there is a technician for string, brass and woodwind to keep these instruments in superior condition.
Beside regular tuning and maintenance, keyboard instruments are regularly removed for reconditioning. As well, there is a schedule for replacement of all keyboard instruments that ensures a constantly high standard.
In a similar fashion, the woodwind and brass instruments used in the Music Education programs are also regularly refreshed. The constant turnover of these instruments ensures that our students always have access to high quality professionally maintained instruments throughout their university programs.
Another benefit for many students and members of the community is the opportunity to take advantage of purchasing musical instruments in outstanding condition at or below market value from the Faculty of Music.
