Directions to the Don Wright Faculty of Music
By Car:
London is located between Windsor and Toronto, along Highway 401. The 401 passes along the south end of London and the University of Western Ontario is located approximately 30 minutes away at the North end of the city.
- Scenic Route
- Exit Highway 401 at Exit#186B Wellington Rd N.
- Merge onto Wellington Rd S.
- After 7.4 kilometres, turn left at Queens Ave (just past Dundas Street… it is quite a ways from the 401)
- After 0.4 kilometres (2 blocks), turn right onto Richmond St.
- After 2 kilometres, turn left at the stone gates (just past Huron Street)
- Cross the river and turn left at the lights
- The building to your immediate right is Talbot College, followed by the Music Building; Welcome to the Don Wright Faculty of Music!
- Direct Route (if traveling west on HWY 401)
- Take the HWY 402 Exit (just past Wellington Rd)
- Merge onto Wonderland Road
- Continue to Sarnia Road
- Turn right on Sarnia Road
- Continue on Sarnia Road past Western Road into Campus
- When you reach a stop sign, the building in front of you will be the Music Building. Turn right and the building on the left (after the Music Building) will be Talbot College
Metered parking is available across from Talbot College and on the South side of the Music Building. From 5pm on Fridays to Sunday evenings, the closest free parking lots are at TD Waterhouse Stadium and Elgin Hall. Please visit Western Parking & Visitor Services for maps to these locations as well as other parking-related information.
By Train or Bus:
Both the train and bus stations are on York Street within easy walking distance of Richmond Street. Walk to Richmond Street and get a London Transit bus ($2.75) going north (Make sure you check! Some go south!) to the university (#6 Richmond; #13 Wellington; any bus that says 'University'). Ask the driver to let you off at Talbot College or listen for the announced stop “Talbot College” or “Delaware Hall” (a residence kitty-corner to Talbot College). If you arrive at the station between 11pm and 8am, you will have to call a taxi: 519-432-2222 (Aboutown), 519-438-2121 (U-Need A Cab), 519-659-0400 (Checker Limousine).
By Plane:
From the Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport, arrange to take the bus or train to London, Ontario. Alternatively, the Robert Q Airport Shuttle service offers passenger van service to London at least once every two hours. The Aboutown Airbus Express also makes frequent trips.
From the London International Airport, call a taxi (see above for numbers); extremely limited public transportation is available.

UWO is situated in the North end of the city. A list of accommodations in London is available at Tourism London. The closest hotels to campus are Windermere Manor, the Station Park Inn, and the Delta London Armouries Hotel. Ambleside Inn Bed & Breakfast is the closest B&B to the university.
In the summer, Western Bed & Breakfast offers accommodation right on campus for very competitive prices.
