Voice at Western

Western’s largest choral ensemble, Chorale, is a mixed-voice choir that includes voice majors, instrumental majors, and non-music majors and is conducted by Dr. Tracy Wong. The choir frequently divides to perform as a separate soprano/alto choir and a tenor/bass choir. They perform a variety of music and have premiered numerous new Canadian compositions and arrangements.

Whenever possible, Chorale collaborates with other ensembles and arts organizations. Past collaborators have included the London Community Orchestra, Kaleid Choral Festival, Baobab Youth Performers, and Finnish a cappella ensemble Rajaton. Chorale also joins forces with Don Wright Faculty of Music choirs to present large choral orchestral works, such as Carmina Burana, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, and Rutter’s Gloria.
