Emily Adamowicz
Emily Adamowicz is PhD candidate at the University of Western Ontario. She holds a Masters degree in music theory from McGill University and a B. Mus. in piano and theory also from McGill. Her current research focuses on the musical theory and compositional practice of Pierre Boulez. Additional research projects have focused on the relationship between subjectivity and musical structure in the music of Milton Babbitt, and the dialectical relationship between constraint and freedom in twentieth-century music composition.
