Sarah Davidson

 

Sarah Davidson was born in Toronto. At the age of 11 Miss Davidson started studying the harp with Judy Loman and continued her studies with Miss Loman until she was 20. 

Sarah appeared as guest soloist with the Toronto Symphony when she was 14 and then again at age 18. Since that time she has appeared as soloist with the Toronto Chamber Players, Oshawa Symphony, Peterborough Symphony and the North York Symphony, as well as solo engagements in England and Scotland.

Miss Davidson is Principal Harpist with the Canadian Opera Company and has held this position since 1979. From 1980-85, she acted as Principal Harpist with the National Ballet Orchestra. She has performed as Principal Harpist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa and the Esprit Orchestra and Hamilton Philharmonic.

Since 1976, Miss Davidson has been teaching the harp privately.  She was previously on faculty at the Royal Conservatory of Music but has been teaching harp at the University of Western Ontario since 2006.  Miss Davidson frequently adjudicates for many music festivals, Kiwanis festivals, the University of Toronto and the Glenn Gould School of Music.
