Graduate Student Funding

The Don Wright Faculty of Music is able to offer significant financial support for its graduate students:

  • All eligible master's students receive scholarship funding at least equal to full tuition annually, and Graduate Teaching Assistantships are available for a limited number of students. To be eligible for funding applicants must posses an admissions average of mid-B (or 74%) and maintain a grade point average of at least 78% while enrolled in the program.

  • Each eligible doctoral student will receive scholarship funding at least equal to full tuition plus $12,000 per year, which normally includes a full Graduate Teaching Assistantship.

Funding is guaranteed from the time a student enters the program until completion or end of eligibility, whichever occurs first (two years for master's students, four years for doctoral students). Many of our students also win additional funding through the Ontario Graduate Scholarships and SSHRC Doctoral Scholarships. The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies also has additional information on Financial Support.
