Audition Information for Organ and Harpsichord

 

Applicants must:

Each prospective organ and harpsichord student is expected to demonstrate a performing ability equal to the Conservatory Grade VIII (Grade X for prospective Performance candidates).

Organ auditions are held in Music Building Room 18. It is recommended that the student, when arranging the audition date, request practice time in the studio.

The student should prepare two pieces of contrasting character from different historical periods. The pieces need not be memorized. No technical exercises are required, but the student will be asked to sightread a piece of organ music using pedals.
