Duncan McCallum is a PhD student in musicology at Western University. Duncan holds a Master of Arts in musicology from Western (2023), as well as an Honours Bachelor of Music with a minor in history from McMaster University (2022). During his time at McMaster, Duncan served as President of both the McMaster Music Society (2020-22) and McMaster Concert Band (2021-22). Duncan’s research interests lie in popular music and music production, with a particular focus on Canadian popular music. Outside of academia, Duncan performs regularly with rock and jazz groups throughout southern Ontario, and has even performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
